Everything is under God's control:
You know, sometimes, when we read some things in the bible, they seem too good to be true and yet, they are still true. Think about the Gospel of Christ: A man needs only to believe in what Christ has done and he would be saved, not only saved but there's an indwelling of God's spirit. Be honest; when you first heard it, what was your reaction? You most likely thought that it was a lie because it didn't match the normal pattern of life because normally when you do wrong, you are supposed to pay for it but here is a message that tells you that you don't need to pay for what you have done, someone else has paid the price. Does that mean the Gospel is false? No! In fact, it further gives more meaning to the word 'Gospel' because, in actual context, the Gospel means news to good to be true. It is true but sounds too good or easy and that is exactly what the Gospel is about. It is true that Jesus paid the ultimate price for your sins and all you need to do is believe in what he has done and you would be saved. Even with how easy the Gospel seemed to you after you believed it, didn't the spirit of God indwell you? Of course, he did.
So, if the Gospel, with how almost untrue it sounds, is true, how much more are the other promises of God? You see, it's not until something is hard that it can be confirmed as good or legitimate. With God, all he requires from you and me is to believe in what he has said, no matter how absurd it sounds because come to think of it, the bible tells us that the foolishness of God is greater than the wisdom of men. Let that sink in. If God's foolishness is greater than man's wisdom, then why do we try to logically explain why something God has said would or would not work? Yours is to believe, he is to do. If it was by faith you believed the Gospel, how else do you intend to live the Christian life? The believer's life is one of faith, that is what we have been called to and you would only be stressing yourself if you always try to reason out what God has said he would do. Now, let's look at the scripture we are focusing on. Thank God for using men to write various translations because it helps us understand God from different perspectives. Some are short and precise, while others are narrative and expressive. Reading different versions of this scripture would help you understand and see what God is saying to you clearly.
I believe you know and understand that the bible is spirit inspired words penned down by men and it doesn't invalidate the fact that it's God's word to all that would dare to follow it. So, if you are someone that believes some men conjured those words together because they simply had nothing to do and they just wanted to create a book of stories, you just might be wrong. The bible is God's word. Have you ever wished for God to speak to you face to face? Or do you sometimes wish you could just know what God is thinking? Don't look too far. God has given us his word and just because it isn't spectacular doesn't mean it isn't supernatural. Instead do waiting for God to talk to you face to face, why don't you go to his word and know what he has to say? Because best believe it, God won't go outside his word because he honours it above his name. So, even if you see God, what he would most likely tell you won't be outside his word. That book, I mean the bible, wherever you might have it: In your bedroom, with you, on your phone or wherever you have it, is God's way of talking to you and shouldn't be ignored.
Have you ever opened the bible while going through something and it's like the scripture you were reading was written for you at that particular time? Don't tell me I am the only one who experienced it, I know you have. At that point, you recognize that the bible isn't a mere book. Hebrews tells us that the word of God is living and powerful so God's word carries life which is how and why it is able to effect change and cause a response in our hearts. You must be wondering why I keep emphasizing God's word. Well, it's because I know how quick we sometimes are to forget God's word when situations arise and look for solutions in other places when God has given us all we need in his word. I have also been there: trying to figure out things on my own. The beautiful thing is that at the end of it all, only God's word has the answers to our questions. So, instead of looking elsewhere, why don't you start with God's word? You would be surprised at the answers you would find. Now, let's look more closely at the scripture we are focusing on.
